Summer is here and it’s time to start planning that vacation we impatiently wait for every year. June is one of the most popular times to travel boasting weather that’s just right, before the scorching heat of July and August. There are endless options to choose from. The Mediterranean coast has the kind of weather that’s truly unbeatable for those long sunny days. On the other hand, a city break will definitely be a memorable experience in June as crowds tend to be less than other months, with budget-friendly prices too. So, let’s get right into it. Here are our top choices for June this year.

Croatia

Within the past decade, Croatia has established

itself as one of the most famous beach destinations in Europe, making it a perfect choice in June. Its heavenly islands and charming historic towns are a wonderful recipe for a memorable experience. Croatia has over a thousand islands ranging from small rocks to the Mediterranean’s 20th largest island called Cres. Hvar Island and Korcula Island are also not to be missed. The former city-republic of Dubrovnik is very interesting as well. Its walls are a wonder on their own and it’s filled with historical sites to keep you busy the entire time you’re there.
The Historic city centre was designated a UNESCO
World Heritage Site back in 1979.

St. Petersburg, Russia

St. Petersburg is a very popular travel choice in June. While the sightseeing is remarkable in this iconic city, the main reason travellers go there this time of year is to experience the White Nights. It sounds like a name for a cheesy band, right?! The name White Nights actually refers to the fact that the sun never sets below the horizon around the beginning of June till the beginning of July. This magical time means that festivals and endless summer events are in full swing all day every day. No doubt you’ll remember a trip like this for the rest of your life.

Amalfi Coast, Italy

Stretching 40 km along the south side of the Sorrentine Peninsula, south of the Bay of Naples, the Amalfi Coast is the definition of beauty. If you’re looking to witness one of the Mediterranean’s most dramatic landscapes, this is it. The town of Amalfi, right in the middle of the coast, is the largest and most influential town in the area. Another highlight is Positano, which has established itself as the resort of choice for ultimate luxury. Cetara is a hidden gem with beautiful beaches away from the touristy crowds. For adventure travellers, there are hiking trails marked all around the coast providing great natural
scenery.

Copenhagen, Denmark

The Danish capital is charming in its own way, especially in the summer time. Copenhagen has a range of attractions and sights for everyone, with the benefit of being within a walking or biking distance from each other. Check out the world’s oldest monarchy or the Amalienborg Palace, where the royal family resides. Don’t miss the exquisite world-famous Tivoli Gardens and the statue of The Little Mermaid. Also, walk down the iconic broad shopping street of Stroget. After all the shopping, relax in an open-air cafe with a beautiful view in Grabrodre Square.
