Alaska Airlines

    Established in 1932, Alaska Airlines is based in Seattle, Washington, USA. It is a major airline carrier and has a sister airline named Horizon Air, which is a part of Alaska Air Group. Alaska Airline has the highest customer satisfaction for nine consecutive years. The airline has secondary hubs in Los Angeles, Portland, and Anchorage. The airline plays an important role of transportation in Alaska and is not a member of any major alliance.

    The fleet

    Alaska Airline enjoys a fleet size of 155 having aircraft from Boeing family. There are some exceptions like Embraer 175, Bombardier Q400 and CRJ700. In 1997, the airline was the first to use Boeing 737-900 and has 12 aircraft of the same. The 737-900ER is the latest addition to the family which operates on long-haul destinations. The airline placed an order for 50 new aircraft which is the largest in the history of the airline. In 2014, the airline further ordered 10 Boeing 737-900ER. These will replace the Boeing 737-400 which will retire in 2017.

    Destinations

    The airline currently caters to 104 destinations both domestically and internationally. It has 92 destinations in USA, Canada, Costa Rica, and Mexico. The airline started catering to the Russian cities but stopped in 1998 after the Russian financial crisis. The airline has codeshare agreements with several airlines. Since 2008, the airline has been a part of Oneworld Global Explorer fares.

    Business Class

    The Business class passengers enjoy complimentary meals and a variety of beverages. Every seat has their own personal entertainment section having films, TV shows, songs and so much more.
