Baku city tour
Relish a delicious breakfast and start your half day city tour of Baku. Begin from Icheri Sheher, or the Old Town, with its maze of narrow, cobblestone streets lined with small mosques nestled between terrace cafes and grand turn-of-the-century architecture. The Palace of Shirvanshahs is a royal palace from the 15th century which stands out to be the finest surviving example of Shirvan architecture is definitely a highlight. After lunch, visit the State Museum of Carpets and Applied Art. Housed in the former Lenin Museum, this impressive collection displays rare Azeri carpets from Azerbaijan, northern Iran and from villages of Georgia and Armenia. Spend the evening on your own trying out some authentic cuisine of the region. Return to hotel.
Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast at hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Alternatively, you can opt for the optional tour of the Greater Baku and Absheron Peninsula. Begin the tour by visiting Gobustan National Park. Pay a visit to the Petroglyphs Museum and explore petroglyphs dating back to 10,000 BC. Continue to mud volcanoes in Gobustan Reserve. Gobustan is home to almost half of world’s mud volcanoes. Later, drive to the famous Ateshgah, located in Surakhany village. Lastly, visit Yanardag Mountain which has natural gas burning for several thousands of years. Return to Baku.
After a filling breakfast, check-out from your hotel early and transfer to the airport. Return home with beautiful memories of your holiday. Bon voyage!
