The tourism boards of New York City and Toronto have signed an agreement to boost tourism between the cities. This is the first Canadian Alliance for New York and the first city-to-city partnership for Toronto. This partnership includes an agreement between the two organizations, sharing of marketing assets, and influencing each other’s tourism marketing.

Southwest Airlines marked their first ‘all-women flight

Southwest Airlines flew their first-ever all-women flight last month. This flight comprised of a captain, co-pilot, and four flight attendants, all of whom are women. According to Women in Aviation Inc., a non-profit group, there is only 6.7 percent of pilots are women. This initiative by Southwest Airlines comes as a truly empowering step for women.

Tourism Australia campaign targets backpackers and working-holiday markers

Tourism Australia launched a new campaign to target backpackers and working holiday-makers. The campaign that invested $ 5 million aimed to promote low-cost Aussie attractions such as Kangaroo Island and the Eyre Peninsula. As part of the campaign, eight foreign competition winners will drive around Australia in campervans.

Netflix is teaming up with airlines to improve Wi-fi

Netflix is partnering with airlines to enhance the in-flight entertainment available to passengers. Netflix will partner with multiple airlines to give them a better in-flight streaming experience. The mobile streaming technology of Netflix will further the in-flight Wi-Fi. According to Netflix, its technology will help the airlines to save as much as 75 percent in bandwidth costs.
