If you are heading out of Dubai for a holiday this weekend, then gear up for heavy pedestrian footfall at the airport

The much-awaited long weekend is almost here. We hope that you are all set to celebrate Eid. But we have a warning for you. If you are heading out of Dubai for a holiday this weekend, then gear up for heavy pedestrian footfall at the airport. Emirates Airline expects more than 106,000 travelers to arrive at Terminal 3 during the Eid break. The airline estimates around 37,000 passengers to pass through Terminal 3 on Friday.

These are some tips to make your travel easy during this weekend:

  1. Reach the airport at least three hours prior to the departure to avoid potential delays. It is possible to check-in up to six hours before the departure.

  2. Check-in online up to 48 hours before flight departure to avoid the rush at the check-in counter.

  3. Customers with baggage can make use of the quick-baggage drop counters, while those carrying only hand luggage can proceed directly to Immigration.

  4. It is better to pack liquids in your check-in luggage.

  5. It is advisable to put all metallic objects such as watches, mobile phones, and belts into your hand luggage much before your security screening. This helps you save a lot of time.

  6. UAE residents can use their Emirates ID cards and avoid waiting in long queues at the immigration.
