Ethiopian Airlines

    Founded on December 21, 1945, Ethiopian Airlines is Ethiopia’s flag carrier, wholly owned by the government. It commenced operations on April 8, 1946 and has its main hub and headquarters at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. The airline has many awards to its credit. It bagged the Passenger Choice Awards for "Best Airline in Africa" for the second time in a row at the APEX 2014 EXPO in September 2014. It also won the Airline Reliability Performance Award from Bombardier Aerospace Ethiopian, as well as the "Best Airline of the Year Award" at MICE Magazine’s 7th Annual Award Ceremony held in Beijing, China in April 2014.

    The world class fleet of 70 aircraft comprises 9 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, 2 Boeing 777-300ERs, 6 Boeing 777-200LRs, 10 Boeing 767-300ERs, 4 Boeing 757-200, 4 Boeing 777-200LRFs (cargo), 2 Boeing 757-200FRs (cargo), 2 MD-11Fs (cargo), 5 Boeing 737-700NGs, 10 Boeing 737-800Ws and one Boeing 737-400. It also has 28 airplanes on order.

    The airline serves 83 international and 20 domestic destinations. It also connects 23 freight routes. Ethiopian Airlines flies to more destinations in Africa than any other carrier.
