For a long time, the local resident has kept the legend that their imperishable Saint Diri-Baba had been buried. However, many other legends and mystical details are connected with this landmark. Therefore, since the 17th century, it attracts pilgrims and simply curious visitors. *Juma Mosque, Shamakhi The oldest and largest mosque in Azerbaijan, Shamakhi Juma, according to the legend was built in the 8th century when Shamakhi was chosen as residence by an Arabian caliph. The initial Arabian inscription on the portal of the mosque said that the mosque had constructed in 744 AD. Therefore, Shamakhi Juma is considered one of the earliest mosques in the whole of Transcaucasia.

Next, we will continue exploring the city and visit major points – Palace of Sheki Khans, Caravanserai and many more towers and fortresses and of course, sweet houses famous for their “halva”s. You will also have time for shopping, if necessary. Nohur Lake -It is located in Qabala, another region of Azerbaijan that one passes when travelling to Sheki. Lake is not on the way but if you go a bit deeper towards the mountains this beautiful view opens in front of you.

The pentagonal complex, which has a courtyard surrounded by cells for monks and a tetra pillar-altar in the middle, was built during the 17th and 18th centuries. It was abandoned in the late 19th century, probably due to the dwindling of the Indian population in the area. The natural "eternal flame" went out in 1969, after nearly a century of exploitation of petroleum and gas in the area, but is now lit by gas piped from the nearby city Trip to "Fire Mountain "-"Yanardag" -a mountain on Absheron peninsula , 25 km from north of Baku. Literally, word "Yanardag" means "Blazing mountain". Blazing bodies of flame dance on stones and floor. Yanar dag is a natural gas fire which blazes continuously on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula on the Caspian Sea near Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, which itself is known as the "land of fire." Spend your day discovering the ancient and historical mystery of Azerbaijan. Travel to see the ancient carvings, mud volcanoes and the other amazing things in The Gobustan National Park. Gobustan National Park is one of Azerbaijan’s most popular and ancient sights visiting by the thousands of tourists annually. You will learn about the history of petroglyphs found in this area and also get useful information to make your stay in Baku much more interesting and full of memorable activities. We promise you that you will be impressed from this tour. *Tour starts with Qobustan which is best known for being the home to the famous rock petroglyphs and mud volcanoes. The area has been settled since the 8th millennium BC. It is known for hosting thousands of rock engravings spread over 100 square km depicting hunting scenes, people, ships, constellations and animals. Its oldest petroglyphs date from the 12th century BC. In 2007, UNESCO included the 'Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape' in the World Heritage list.
