On arrival in the capital city of Azerbaijan, Baku, transfer to the hotel and check-in. Relax and spend the day at leisure, exploring the city, such as the pristine beaches, on your own and shop for souvenirs. Return to hotel.
Baku city tour
Relish a scrumptious breakfast and start your half-day city tour of Baku. The first stop of the tour is at Martyr's Lane, formerly known as the Kirov Park. Next, head to the Old Town (Ichari Shahar) which is lined with small mosques nestled between terrace cafes and grand turn-of-the-century architecture. We then visit the Palace of Shirvanshahs which is a royal palace from the 15th century and is one of the finest surviving examples of Shirvan architecture. Later, visit the State Museum of Carpets and Applied Art. Housed in the former Lenin Museum, this impressive collection displays rare Azeri carpets from Azerbaijan, northern Iran and from villages of Georgia and Armenia. Spend the evening on your own trying out some authentic cuisine of the region. Return to hotel.
Optional tour- Absheron peninsula tour
Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel and spend the day at leisure. Alternatively, go on an optional tour of Absheron Peninsula. Begin by visiting Ateshgah, located in Suraxani village. Then, visit Yanar Dag Mountain which is the most famous and popular tourist site of the “eternal flame” in Azerbaijan. It is rather a hill than a mountain, with natural gas burning on its slope from ancient times. There is no seepage of mud or liquid, which distinguishes it from the nearby mud volcanoes. Only a handful of fire mountains exist today in the world, and most are located in Azerbaijan. Return to Baku.
After a hearty breakfast, spend the day at leisure on your own. Later in the evening, check-out from your hotel and transfer to the airport to return home with wonderful memories of your holiday. Bon voyage!
