Royal Brunei Airlines

    Royal Brunei Airlines is the national flag carrier of the Sultanate of Brunei. Established in 1974, this airline has made its mark in luxury travel and hospitality and has reinvented itself to remain up-to-date with the expectations of travelers. Wholly owned by the Brunei Government, Royal Brunei Airlines was awarded the Best Foreign Airline award at the Sabah Tourism Awards in 2011. It also won the World Leading Airline First Class award, presented by the World Travel Awards for the years 2000, 1999 and 1998.

    The fleet

    The Royal Brunei Airlines fleet consists of four Boeing 787-8 aircrafts, with a capacity of 236
    economy and 18 business class seats. These were introduced in 2013, for its long-haul flights. It also consists of state-of-the-art aircrafts for medium and short-haul flights. The fleet includes two Airbus A319, with 114 economy seats and 8 business class seats, and four Airbus A320, with 132 economy seats and 12 business class seats.

    Destinations

    Royal Brunei Airlines offers services across Asia, the Middle East, Australasia and the UK. The airline has entered into code-share agreements that enable travelers to co-ordinate flights over a wider range of destinations. The airline operates from its hub at the Brunei International Airport. It connects several cities in Southeast Asia, like Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali in Indonesia. Other Asian cities include Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Manila, Kota Kinabalu and Ho Chi Minh City. Destinations in China include bustling cities like Shanghai and Hong Kong. Apart from Asia, there are frequent flights to Melbourne, Dubai, Jeddah and London.

    Travelling in style: Business Class and Economy

    Aboard the Boeing flights, the business class cabin comes with 180 degree flat bed seats, along with a 15.4 inch touchscreen monitor for in-flight entertainment.

    In the Airbus aircrafts, passengers can enjoy a comfortable and restful journey as well. The recliner seats come with a 44 inch seat pitch and an 8.4 inch TV for in-flight entertainment. On some routes, extra entertainment options are provided via iPad Minis. These are loaded with an array of movies, TV series and games.

    The economy class cabin is sufficiently spacious, with semi-recliner seats as well as adequate legroom and seat pitch. The Boeing flights have 9 inch personal touch-enabled TV screens, with a range of in-flight entertainment options.
