This Eid, Hong Kong Feels Like the Right Kind of Trip

Shiwangi, May 21, 2026

Eid has its own rhythm. The house gets louder. The table gets fuller. Someone is telling a story. Someone else interrupts halfway through it.

Meals stretch longer. Conversations go later into the night and somewhere between dessert and another cup of tea, someone asks the question.

So… where should we go this year? To that we say, Hong Kong.

Not just because it’s exciting. But because it’s a city that works well when you travel together and Eid trips are always about travelling together.

The City After Sunset

Hong Kong changes in the evening.

The lights come on. The air cools. The city slows just a little.

Start with Temple Street Night Market. Bright stalls, steaming street food, small shops selling everything from jade trinkets to quirky souvenirs. There are families and tourists wandering around between all this, stopping for some claypot rice, some noodles and some amazing late night desserts. The atmosphere is so vibrant and different from anything you’ve seen before - there are fortune tellers reading palms, Cantonese opera singers drifting through the air, and the feeling that the night is only just beginning.

You walk a little. You stop a little. Someone buys snacks. Someone finds something unexpected.

Nobody rushes.

Then there’s Victoria Harbour.

Watching the Symphony of Lights across the skyline is simple but memorable. Buildings glow. Reflections stretch across the water. For a few minutes, everyone just watches.

Even the short Star Ferry ride feels like part of the experience. A quick ride. A wide skyline. A moment to just look around.

Hong Kong evenings tend to stay with you.

Dinner Becomes the Evening

Food always matters during Eid. Hong Kong makes that easy. The city has plenty of halal restaurants, especially around Tsim Sha Tsui and Central. From halal Cantonese dishes to Middle Eastern and international options, there’s always something to try.

Dinner rarely stays just dinner.

One dish becomes two. Someone orders dessert. Someone suggests tea somewhere else and suddenly the evening keeps going.

Which is exactly how Eid dinners usually go.

The Moments People Remember

Then there are the experiences people talk about later.

The ride up Victoria Peak on the legendary Peak Tram is a steep one, but definitely a 10 minute ride that’s worth it. At 552m above sea level, the Victoria Peak looms tall above the skyline of Hong Kong. Here’s a word of advice though: pick the right side for the view, going up and the left side, while going back down. The views will be worth it. Once you’re up there, the Peak Tower mall will have you mesmerised. If you’re looking for something a bit off the typical path though, there’s a 2.7km walking path around the mountain called the Peak Circle Path. The view and the walk remain some of the most invigorating experiences of Hong Kong till date.

Then, a full day at Hong Kong Disneyland, where the excitement belongs to everyone. Then of course there’s Lantau Island, home to the towering Tian Tan Buddha, where the city feels far away for a while.

Different places. Different moods.

All easy to enjoy together.

Why Hong Kong Works for Eid

Maybe it’s the balance.

Night markets and skyline views. Ferry rides and long dinners. Busy streets and quiet moments. Or maybe it’s simpler than that.

Hong Kong just feels good when you explore it together because Eid trips aren’t really about seeing everything.

They’re about being somewhere together. Hong Kong gives you plenty of moments like that and when flights, hotels, and plans are handled, the trip feels even easier.

That’s where we come in as, Your Trusted Travel Companion, quietly helping and nudging you along, because the best Eid trips usually begin the same way.

Where should we go this year?

To which, Hong Kong is still a very good answer.
