Air Macau

    Established in 1994, Air Macau is the official carrier of Macau. In 2014, the airline carried 2.12 million passengers and 15,900 tons of cargo and mail. Air Macau started a commercial flight from 1995 to Beijing and Shanghai. Before, 1995, there was no air service to Macau. The majority of the airline is owned by China National Aviation Corporation and TAP Portugal.

    The smaller percentages are owned by Government of Macau, Investors, employees and staff. Macau Asia Express was a failed low-cost airline project which was launched in 2007. This project had scheduled flights to several locations in China.

    The fleet

    Air Macau has currently 18 aircraft under its brand name. All the aircraft come from the Airbus family. This includes 7 Airbus A321, 2 A320, and 5 A319. Between 2002-06, the airline rented 2 Boeing 727-100F to provide air cargo services. Later, both were replaced with Airbus A300 but retired in 2012. Recently, in 2013, 2 A321-100 replaced A321-200. In 2014, the airline welcomed a brand new Airbus A321 aircraft called Prosperous. This was named to improve the image of tourism in the country.

    Destinations

    As of 2016, the airline flies to 24 destinations in Asia including 15 in China. The airline also shares codeshare agreement with several Asian countries. This includes Air China, All Nippon Airways, Asiana Airways, Philippines Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines and Thai Airways.

    Business Class

    The business class passengers can enjoy a class menu of hot meals including appetizers, desserts, mains, and cheese. This elaborate menu is available on long flights with beverages. During short-haul flights a lighter meal is served with tea or coffee. The entertainment in-flight is limited to local movies only and available on long flights only. The airline has a new lounge opened at the airport on 2 September 2015. The passengers can have access to free Wi-Fi. The Business class passengers can carry 30 kgs of baggage

    Onboard Facilities

    Passengers are requested to carry their own entertainment since the in-flight options are limited. The airline along with All Nippon Airways launched frequent flyer program since 2010. The airline also provides Sky shopping option as well. The passengers are provided hot meals during the flight following a variety of beverages. The cabin baggage is restricted to 1 piece only.

    Online booking and Check In

    Air Macau does not support online check-in option. Hence all passengers are requested to reach the airport 2-3 hours before departure. The check-in counters close 40 minutes before the flight leaves. Online booking can be done at Musafir.
