Safi Airways

    Established in 2006, Safi Airways is the largest privately owned airline from Afghanistan. Although the airline has its headquarters in Afghanistan, the administration office is in Dubai Airport Free Zone. Besides, the ticketing office is in Deira Dubai, UAE. Safi Airways became the first airline to meet the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) requirements. It also complies with IATA and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) as well.

    The fleet

    The airline currently has 3 aircraft in the fleet. This includes Airbus A320-200, Boeing 737-400 and Boeing 767-200 ER. The Boeing 737-400 was leased from Jordan Aviation. The former fleet included Airbus A319-100 which recently retired in 2016. The Airbus A340-300 and Boeing 737-300 retired in 2011. The Boeing 757-200 retired in 2014.

    Destinations

    As of July 2015, the airline has over 9 destinations in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. But, the airlines terminated the flights from Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Frankfurt, and Kuwait. The airlines fly to Dubai, Delhi, Islamabad, Herat, Kandahar, Mashhad, and Mazar-i-Sharif. The airline also plans to extend the network to Istanbul, Ankara, Dushanbe, and Washington DC between 2016-2017.

    Business Class

    Business class passengers enjoy a priority and separate check-in counters at the airports. In addition, they also get access to the lounge. Some other benefits include priority check-in and priority baggage claim. The lavish business class lounge is available at Kabul International airport. The passengers can indulge in unlimited drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic and snacks. Business class passengers are offered a welcome drink and snack on the flight. The business class comprises of 12 comfortable seats with a 2-2 configuration. The passengers can enjoy a 3-course meal in flight.

    Onboard Facilities

    The meals served in economy and business class are hot and mouth-watering. They are followed by beverages which contain a wide variety of juices. The cuisine offered are of Afghan origin. But, the airline lacks the advantage of in-flight entertainment and other amenities. It aims to offer more of an Afghan experience.

    Online booking and Check In

    Passengers traveling with Safi Airways can complete their check-in from the airport counters. The airline booking can be done from the official website of the airlines. The baggage allowance in economy class is 30 kgs and 40 kgs in Business class. The online web check-in is not available with the airline at the moment.
