Virgin Atlantic

    Established in 1984, the British Airline is headquartered in Crawley, UK. The main branch is based out of London and while the second one is in Manchester. The airline operates scheduled flights to South Africa on a daily basis. It carried 5.4 million passengers in 2012 and became the 7th largest as per passenger volume. Besides, the airline holds Civil Aviation Authority Type A operating license. This permits the carrier to carry mail, cargo, and passengers. This aircraft should have 20 or more seats to do so.

    The fleet

    Virgin Atlantic Airlines enjoys a mixed fleet of Airbus and Boeing aircraft. The Boeing 747-400s and Airbus A330-300s travel on specific routes like Glasgow, Gatwick, and Manchester. In 2002, Virgin became the first to operate Airbus 340-600. The airline replaces Airbus 340-300 with a single engine with two engine A330-300 and 787-9.


    Virgin serves on a large network of routes across continents like Australia, Africa, Asia, and Europe. It even operates to destinations in the Caribbean and the Middle East, as well as countries like Mexico, UK, USA, and Canada. It has partner airlines that unite with other locations where Virgin doesn’t fly. They also have exceptional flights from Auckland to Christchurch, Bloomington-Normal to Detroit and Los Angeles to Indianapolis flights.

    Business Class

    The passengers of business class enjoy facilities like separate check-in area, pre-flight drink, and special cabin crew. The seats come with more leg room. This service is available in all Airbus A340s and Heathrow-based A340 aircraft. The passengers can enjoy personal entertainment tablets and seat back television are open on all flights.

    These passengers can use in-seat laptop power, flat-bed and power leads for iPods, a larger menu, in-flight bar, access to chauffeur and much more other services. The passengers can also avail the lounge services called the ‘Clubhouse’ located across the globe.

    Once on the airplane, passengers have an option of gourmet meals, movies and music, spacious comfortable seats, and much more. One can even get duty-free purchases on-board.

    Online booking and Check In

    Virgin Atlantic online check-in is the way to go to avoid standing in long queues at the airport. It allows to get your boarding pass with seating and meal preferences and directly reaches the security counter before the flight. Online check-in comes with 24 hours prior to flight departure or 70 minutes before.
