Croatia Airlines

    Established in 1989, Croatia Airlines is a state-owned airline of Croatia. The airline’s main hub is FranjoTudman Airport. Since 2004, the airline became a member of Star Alliance. The largest shareholder of the company is Government Asset Management Agency. Croatia Airlines owns shares in two companies ObzorPutovanja and Amadeus Croatia. These companies provide services in line with the air transport. In 1998, Croatia Airlines became a member of AEA (Association of European Airlines).

    The fleet

    The airline has a fleet size of 13 from Airbus family. It has 4 Airbus A319-100 and 2 A320-200. Besides these, it also has 6 Bombardier Dash 8 Q 400. The latest retirement of the fleet was a Focker 100. In 1993, ATR 42 and two 737 joined the fleet and airline opened offices to cater towards individuals and groups. In 2015, Croatia Airlines confirmed about leasing 2 aircrafts and will get 6 new ones by 2018.

    Destinations

    Croatia Airlines has 27 destinations in Europe. The airline carried 1 million passengers since 2000. The airline became the 1st to fly to Sarajevo after the Bosnian War. After signing an agreement with Adria Airways, the airline could start domestic flights between Zagreb and Split. After the Croatian War of Independence, the airline acquired 3 Boeings 737 from Lufthansa and became a member of IATA. In 1992, the airline launched the first international service from Zagreb to Frankfurt.
