Czech Airlines

    Established in 1923, Czech airline becomes the 2nd airline in the world to successfully initiate jetliner services. The national airline of Czech Republic has the hub in Václav Havel Airport Prague in Ruzyně, Prague. The airline enjoys the status of IATA and runs frequent flier program for its passengers.

    It is also a member of SkyTeam alliance since the year 2000. In 2016, the airline became profitable after many years. In 2015, Travel Service Group bought 34% of the shares of the airline. The main line of business for CSA is passenger carrier. The airline also enjoys the status of being the oldest airline in the world.

    The fleet

    Czech Airlines has 17 modern aircraft. Airbus is used on medium and long haul routes and shorter distances by ATR aircraft. The airline has 1 Airbus 330-300 and 9 Airbus A319-100. It also has 4 ATR72 and 3 ATR42 on shorter routes. It has 1 Airbus A319-100 and 7 Airbus A320neo. The Airbus A320neo will replace Airbus 319-100. The delivery will start from 2019 to 2021.

    Destinations

    Czech Airlines flies to 89 different destinations and 45 countries across the globe. The airline enjoys 32 monopoly routes from Prague Airport. This includes one domestic route to Ostrava and one feeder route in Slovakia. On 27 routes the airline faces two to three competitors.

    Business Class

    If a passenger is a Frequent Flier OK Plus member, they can use the points to upgrade to Business Class. The passengers of business class enjoy priority baggage unloading, fast track through security and priority boarding. The passengers also enjoy the lounges, welcome drink in the aircraft and wide choices of cuisine.

    In addition, the passengers also get more frequent flier points which can be used in the future. The passenger has a chance to upgrade, through Plusgrade, if tickets are purchased online. This facility is only available for specific connections.

    Onboard Facilities

    The flight provides a variety of homemade food meals. The menu also includes drinks which come prepaid during the ticket booking. Anyone can upgrade their meal to business class offerings. The economy class passengers can upgrade their menu 24 hours prior to the flight departure. However, the meals are not complimentary. The passengers will have to pay for the meals which costs around €10 and warm meal upgrade will cost €15.

    Online booking and Check In

    The passengers can check in 36 hours prior to the flight time. The web check-in closes 1 hour before the flight. If anyone is traveling only with hand luggage they can simply print the boarding pass and proceed to security check. If not, one has to drop the baggage first at the airport desk.
