LAM Mozambique Airlines

    Established in 1936, LAM Mozambique is the flag carrier of Mozambique. The airline was founded by the Portuguese colonial government of Mozambique. The airline has its hub at Maputo International Airport. The airline is also a member of IATA and African Airline Association since 1976.

    The fleet

    The Airline has a total of 7 flights traveling to southern African countries. The latest addition to the fleet is the Embraer 190 in 2009. LAM Mozambique received the second aircraft later that year. The airline also took the delivery of Boeing 737-500 on lease in 2012 from GECAS. In 2013 November, 3 Boeing 737-700 placed an order of 3 Boeing 737-700 worth US$228 million. The current air fleet consists of Boeing 737-500 and 737-700, Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and Embraer 190.

    Destinations

    The airline currently flies to 15 destinations in Africa. In the past, the flights to Vila Cabral were suspended but later reinstated again after the city was linked with Beira via Vila Pery, Tete, and Vila Coutinho. In November 2011 the route of Maputo–Lisbon–Maputo was started. But this route was also later discontinued.

    Business Class

    Business Class passengers will have access to Flamingo Lounge at the airport. The seats in the plane are placed in the front and enjoy priority check-in and exit out of the flight. The meals offered on the plane are of regional flavours which are made using fresh ingredients. The business class passengers can also indulge into dietary needs. The airline also has in Indian magazine on board the flight. The kit is available to the passengers which contain pillows and blankets.

    Onboard Facilities

    LAM Mozambique believes in comfortable travel to all the passengers. Hence, the economy class seats are wide and spacious with generous legroom space. The airline provides a wide variety of choice of drinks and wine. If a passenger has special dietary meal choice, they can provide that information to the airline beforehand. Special care is provided to the babies and children on board.

    Online booking and Check In

    The passengers traveling with LAM Mozambique are requested to arrive at the airport on time to avoid delays and rush. The passengers should carry all their travel documents with them. For domestic route, the passengers should arrive 60 minutes before departure. The online booking can be done through Musafir. For international flights the check-in closes 120-180 minutes before departure.
