Ukraine International Airlines is the flag carrier of the country with the head office in Kiev. Established in 1992, the airline has its main hub at Boryspil International Airport. The flights carry operations in Europe, Middle East, and Asia. Unlike other low-cost airlines, UIA does not offer free catering on board except water.
But the passengers can book prepaid meals during ticket booking. Since June 2016, most UIA international flights come with hand luggage only tariff. If passengers want to carry extra luggage they will have to pay an addition of $ 60 per flight.
The fleet
The airline fleet has 39 modern airliners in the fleet. It includes 4 long-haul Boeing 767-300ER, 10 medium-haul classical Boeing 737, 20 medium-haul New Generation Boeing 737 and 5 medium-haul Еmbraer-190. The modern fleet and hospitality with well-trained staff ensure international level hospitality.
Destinations
UIA covers 70 destinations in Russia, African, Asia, North American, South America, and Europe. The airline also operates domestic flights from Boryspil International Airport. It operates 700 flights per week with connectivity to 3000 destinations globally.
Business Class
Business class offers more comfort and a more relaxing experience. One can upgrade to Business class before departure. Business Class passengers can avail the services of online check-in 48 or 24 hours before the flight. The check-in depends on the destination and route. A 'Fast Track' priority airport security control clearance at Boryspil International Airport. The passengers can also carry larger baggage allowance which includes 2 pieces of 32 kg each. The Panorama Club cardholders can carry 3 pieces each of 32 kgs.
Onboard Facilities
UIA doesn’t provide onboard entertainment across all its routes. However, it provides a complimentary model of its in-flight magazine ‘Panorama.' UIA doesn’t provide snacks and hot snacks as well. Economy Class passengers on flights with longer than 90 minutes’ flight time can order from their onboard menu. UIA also provides meals on international flights if notified 48 hours before. These include varieties such as seafood, children’s meals, Muslim, kosher and vegetarian meals.
Online booking and Check In
Passengers flying Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) can check-in online as well as through the UIA mobile app, and can also print their boarding passes. However, these services are applicable only to specific airports. Online check-in begins 23 hours and shuts 2 hours before flight departure. Passengers flying with infants and requiring special support and unaccompanied minors cannot check-in beforehand.
