Brussels Airlines

    Established in 2006, Brussels Airline is the flight carrier of Belgium. The airline has the headquarters in Brussels Airport. The airline is a member of Star Alliance, IATA, and AEA. Lufthansa purchased 45% of the company in 2009 and in 2016 it announced the complete takeover of the airline. Lufthansa plans to complete the modulation by end of 2016 to be transactions from 2017.

    The fleet

    The fleet contains 49 aircraft as per October 2016. All the aircraft contain Airbus planes. The aircraft range from A319-100, A320-200, A330-200, A330-300. The airline also has 8 Avro RJ100 and 1 Boeing 737-300. During 2010, Airbus A319-100 joined the fleet. As the cash flow improved, the airline raised its replacements of aircraft from 2011. Since 2016, the airline phased out Avro RJ100 with Airbus A320.

    Destinations

    The airline operates to over 90 destinations in Europe, North America, Asia, Middle East and Africa. Brussels Airlines also offers charter services. The airline also shares codeshare agreement with several flights.

    Business Class

    The airlines named the Business Class as Bizz&Class which provides full service on the European network. The airline provides free champagne, premium meals, and complete flexibility. The main advantage with the Business Class is the free change in date/time of the flight. The baggage allowance is 32 kgs each with 2 pieces. The Bizz&Class passengers can carry 16kgs of hand luggage as well. The business class passengers can use the fast lane service at the security counter. The passengers can also pre-order a meal of choice. With the frequent flyer miles, anyone can earn miles to upgrade to business class.

    Onboard Facilities

    The airline has 2 in-flight magazines. The European network has a monthly publication of b-there! magazine. The African route has B Spirit Magazine published every 2 months. The new economy class seats have AVOD 9-inch entertainment system. The previous privilege service ended since the collaboration with Lufthansa. At present, the passengers can avail the Miles & More.

    Online booking and Check In

    Brussels Airlines provides 24-hour prior check in on the websites. The passengers will have the choice of the seats. This service is available on all flights except Dubrovnik, Bastia, Ibiza and Olbia. The airline also provides the option of web check-in through a mobile application.
