Vistara Airlines

    Established in 2013, Vistara is an Indian domestic airline which has its base at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The airline is a joint venture of TATA sons and Singapore Airlines. It started its operations in 2015. As of 2016, the airline carried 2 million passengers and has a share of 2.3% share in the domestic market. After Indian government opened the FDI of airline sector for 49% this major step was taken. The airline was founded to meet the demand of high-end travelers. The airline revealed its identity of Vistara in 2014. In 2015, the airline also inaugurated Aviation Security Training Institute to train its employees.

    The fleet

    As of 2016, the airline has 13 aircrafts in operation. All the 13 aircrafts belong to the Airbus A320-220. Vistara had its first delivery in 2014 and the latest entry came in October 2016. The airline plans to receive 8 new Airbus A320neos by mid-2018.

    Destinations

    The airline caters to the 18 domestic airports in India. Besides this, the airline also signed interline agreements with several another airline. The airline caters to the states of Maharashtra, Odisha, U.P., West Bengal, Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Punjab, and Assam. The airline also provides charter flights for tours, corporate groups, government bookings or individuals.     Business Class

    Since Vistara is a full-service carrier, it includes 8 business class seats in 2-2 configuration. The total number of seats are 158 seats. The Business Class seats are 20.12 inches and 42 inches wide. The airline provides lounge service to business class passengers and Club Vistara Gold Card Holders. The lounge is operational on T3 Terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport. It is spread to over 250 sq m area.

    Onboard Facilities

    The airline does not provide in-flight entertainment but it has pre-loaded tablets for business class passengers. Since 2016, the airline started sending the in-flight entertainment options to the passengers’ personal electronic devices. This is done with Wi-Fi connection through BAE Systems IntelliCabin.

    Online booking and Check In

    Vistara provides online check-in option through its official website. The passengers can use this as its boarding pass.
