Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines, Inc, was incorporated on June 17, 1929, with its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Today, the company stands as a result of several mergers, one of the most noticeable and largest being the one with Northwest Airlines in 2010. Headed by Richard H Anderson as the CEO and Edward Bastian as President, the airline reported a net income of $3.4 billion in 2013.

Delta operates around 764 aircraft, out of which it owns 583 and has taken a lease for the remaining 181. The airplanes have been manufactured by Boeing, Airbus and McDonnell Douglas. The company operates the largest fleet of Airbus A330s and Boeing 767s in the USA; and the largest fleet of McDonnell Douglas MD-88s, Boeing 757s and McDonnell Douglas MD-90 aircraft in the world. The B747–400 and B767–300 are the oldest fleet maintained and the airline plans to replace these with Airbus A350-900s and Airbus A330neos, which will be delivered in 2017 and 2019, respectively.
