Kuwait Airways

    The national airline and flag carrier of Kuwait is part of the Arab Air Carrier Organization with its headquarters at Kuwait International Airport. Formed in 1953 by a group of Kuwaiti businessmen, Kuwait Airways commenced operations in 1954. It works with a focus on improving customer oriented services and provide best-in-class facilities that enhance both novelty and tradition. Over the years, the airline has been nominated for several awards at prestigious events, and has been recognized as the Middle East’s leading airline every year from 2005 to 2014. It was also recognized as the Middle East’s leading Airline - Economy Class in 2014 and the Middle East’s leading cabin crew for four consecutive years from 2009 to 2014.

    The Fleet

    Over the years, this airline has managed to acquire a number of planes manufactured by Airbus and Boeing. As of December 2014, its fleet comprises of the A320-200 with a capacity of 130 passengers that includes 20 business class seats and 110 economy class seats. The A310-308 can accommodate up to 198 passengers, among which 24 are business class and 174 are economy. The spacious A300-600 has a capacity of 232 passengers, with 18 first class seats, 19 business class and 196 economy class seats. The Boeing 777-269 can ferry 24 first and business class travelers, and 225 economy class passengers.

    Destination

    The company operates international flights throughout the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, North America, South East Asia and Europe. As of December 2014, the airline flies to over 30 destinations across 24 countries. Among the most popular holiday destinations in Europe, Kuwait Airlines flies to Munich, Athens, Amsterdam, Malaga, Zurich, Prague, and more. It travels to Chicago and Washington DC in the US, and Egypt, Morocco and Sedan in Africa. In Asia its destinations include Cyprus, India, Bangladesh, Yemen, Pakistan, Iran, Japan, Iraq and a lot more.

    On Board Services

    On board services include a wide range of complimentary meals for specific sets of people. Hindus and Jains can get special meals that do not involve the use of beef and are free from dairy products, fish, eggs and root vegetables. There are special meals for babies, children, and even diabetics. There are also low calorie, gluten free, low lactose and low fat meals especially for passengers who are diet conscious or have certain allergies. Other complimentary services include blankets, sleeping blinds, headsets to watch movies, carry cots and toys for infants.

    With the added advantage of online booking, you can also check in online up to 3 to 4 hours before departure, depending on your location. The baggage allowance for first class flyers is 40 kgs, 30 kgs for business class and 20 kgs for economy class. In case the weight exceeds this limit, you may be liable to pay extra.
